Sofie Engelschion
In 2020, I packed my XL Helly Hansen bag and moved to Florence, Italy to study art, without having visited the city before. Like many others, the pandemic made me rethink everything and I knew I wanted to spend more time doing what I love.
I spent three unforgettable years in Florence, studying multimedia art and drawing inspiration from Renaissance masterpieces, misty Tuscan mornings and late-night conversations over wine. In 2023, I completed my degree and officially became an artist, not only in spirit but also on paper.
After Florence, I followed my curiosity to Yellowknife, Canada, and traded cobblestone streets for snow, stars, and silence. And now I'm back in Norway, trying to make a living from my art full-time. It's both scary and exciting, but most of all, it feels right.
My work spans painting, photography, video and installations. I always try to capture the quiet beauty of everyday life, the kind of moments that are easy to miss but hard to forget.
If you're curious about what goes on behind the scenes as a working artist, I share a lot of my creative process (and life in general) on social media!
